FC Kapstadt to honour the late Reggie Jantjies

South African lost one of its footballing icon in the month of September. Jantjies who is a former Bafana Bafana international set the football scenes alight with his daring performances for sides like Hellenic and Cape Town Spurs in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

FC Kapstadt an amateur side in the Western Cape is set to honour their former coach in a fashionable way at their annual grassroots tournament which is viewed as the “Mother City’s Premier Grassroot Football Festival”. The tournaments Player of the Tournament Award will be changed to “Reggie Jantjies Award” to honour his memory, Jantjies was also the head coach at FC Kapstadt when they were campaigning in the ABC Motsepe League but then it used to be known as the Vodacom League. In his tenure as coach at FC Kapstadt, he had players like Asavela Mbekile who is currently with Orlando Pirates, former Chippa United and Golden Arrows player Masonwabe Bovu and Guinness  World record holder Khris Njokwana at his disposal.

The tournament starts on the 12th if October up to the 14th of October at Hartlyvale Stadium in Observatory in Cape Town. Age groups Under 7- Under 13.
