Eight rounds of games have been played in the National First Division and only two teams have hit double digits with the number of goals that they have scored, its only Stellenbosch who are the current league leaders and Maccabi. The log leaders spot has exchanged a lot this season and that shows that the type of football that is displayed in the NFD is not predictable, with only seven points separating the team on top and the team positioned tenth.
After the international week and going into round eight a lot happened, we saw the interim coach at Royal Eagles Kagiso Dikgacoi being suspended from his role. Ubuntu Cape Town relived their Coach Casey Prince from his duties and replaced him with Vladislav Heric.

This week we caught up with Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo from Jomo Cosmos, the defender joined Ezenkosi at the beginning of the season. The talented defender was also in the books of relegated Mthatha Bucks. He has proven to be a quality signing for Jomo Cosmos as he has played all games for Ezenkosi this season.
“Everything in the team is going well and for me to work with the legendary Jomo its amazing and i am learning a lot from him, he is one coach that is always there for the players and is always supportive and I am enjoying my time here”
The side that is led by the Black Prince is currently sitting on position five having played eight games and have accumulated thirteen points, they started the season on a back foot, they lost to Ajax Cape Town at home in their league opener.
“This season we did not start well as we missed a couple of players but now we have the right players to assist us and we would love to go into the Christmas break in a right position then after that we can take it from there”
Hlatshwayo has shown his prowess for his new side and has already found the back of the net for his side, the goal came in a 1-0 win ver Roger De Sa side.
“I had a feeling that I would score in that game, I remember I spoke to my brother and telling him that I would score, I had an opportunity to score in the first five minutes and I missed that opportunity but later in the game I had an opportunity to redeem myself and I scored and the sad part I could not even celebrate as I was overwhelmed by the occasion”
Jomo Cosmos has recently brought back Zimbabwean talisman Charlton Mashumba, the strikers signing shows the intention of Jomo Cosmos this season. The striker makes a welcome return for the Ezenkosi after turning out for Highlands Park and Algerian side USM Alger.
” This season we just want to get the team back to the PSL nothing else and for me personally I would love to play more than twenty games this season as you know it’s my first season in the NFD”
