“The coach said I am not part of his plans”
After spending three seasons with the current MTN 8 champions Cape Town City, Sibusiso Masina was released after his contract ended. His spell with the Citizen had been a successful one, he won the Telkom Knockout and was on the scoresheet when they lost to SuperSport United on penalties in the 2017 MTN 8 final.
“It’s a great feeling to be part of the Free Stars family and I am feeling happy and cannot complain”
Masina in his three seasons with the Cape Town-based side had managed to grab sixty appearances for himself and only finding the net on four occasions. The Daveyton born attacker joined Citizens as part of the players that were in the team that was bought by Comitis.
“My Contract at Cape Town City was up, the Chairman wanted to renew it but the coach said that I was not in his plans for the upcoming season”
Masina recently made his start for “Ea LLa Koto” their 2-0 victory against Bloemfontein Celtics in the Free State derby. Luc Eymael’s side is currently sitting on position ninth with eleven points after ten games.
“Working with coach Eymael is great because he is a coach that wants to win things, the preparation and focus he put in his job, you can see that he is a coach that is very passionate about football”
Masina will be hoping to his contribution to his new side and he has a familiar face at Free State Star in the form of Judas Moseamedi. His contract at Stars runs till the end of the season with an option to renew
