We not at full strength and ravaged by injuries and fatigue-Truter
Swallows Fc has taken the DStv Premiership with a storm since gaining promotion after winning the GladAfrica Championship. There are only three teams this season who have not registered a defeat and two of those sides will be in action tomorrow. Mamelodi Sundowns and the Birds have the same number of points, the same number of games and whoever wins this game will be on top of the log standings.
“It couldn’t have come at a worse time. We not at full strength and ravaged by injuries and fatigue, but we will enjoy the occasion playing against the best team in SA. Hopefully, the tactics and adrenalin will take us through the game”.
The man who has been at the helm of the Dobsonville based side Brandon Truter spoke about his side and the expectations he had when they got promoted
“No not really to be honest. The only thing I was confident about is that we will definitely be a competitive team”.
Truter has managed to gel youth and senior players in his side and they have not disappointed in the twelve games they have played. The experience of Virgil Vries, Vuyo Mere, Cheese Mokoena mixed with Given Thibedi, Njabulo Ngcobo, Zeff Mbokoma and the man who is banging goals Ruzaigh Gamaldien.
“You have to look at the human being first before you look at the player who is coming to the job. I believe if you good enough you are old enough. I manage people with the respect they deserve, the same attitude the players must have towards each other. Whether young or senior”.
The Swallows coach was voted as the Coach of the Month together with Gamaldien who won the Player of the Month.
“It means a lot, it shows what we as a technical team are capable of when given the chance. I dedicate this to all my staff. I hope it also shows to all the nay-sayers that said we lack the experience to coach at this level”.
